YOUR IMPACT
The Director of Strategy & Analytics plays a crucial role in shaping the success and growth of the company through strategic decision-making and business intelligence. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and justification of new innovation and platforms and utilizing analytical insights to enhance decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business intelligence, data analytics, and strategic thinking to contribute to the company's growth and member experience. You are responsible for driving insights, evaluating return on invested capital (ROIC), assessing performance, and delivering intelligence that optimizes results. The Director of Strategy & Analytics works closely with Member Experience, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams to support projects across departments.
 
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Data-driven insights and analysis to drive strategy:
  • Utilizing data-driven approaches, the Director of Strategy & Analytics actively drives and influences improved innovation and decision-making. By applying advanced analytical techniques and tools, they extract meaningful insights from diverse data sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that contribute to enhancing member experience and the overall business.
2. ROIC calculation for innovation projects:
  •  The Director of Strategy & Analytics takes a lead role in calculating the ROIC for all innovation projects. This involves thorough analysis of project costs and comparing them against expected returns. By conducting these evaluations, the director determines the financial viability of each project, enabling informed decision-making.
3. Performance assessment through pre and post-change analysis:
  • The Director of Strategy & Analytics evaluates performance by conducting comprehensive before-and-after analyses. This entails assessing data to understand the impact of interventions or changes, determining their effectiveness, and identifying areas for improvement. Based on these findings, the director provides data-driven recommendations to enhance future interventions.
4. Development of actionable reports to optimize operations:
  •  The Director of Strategy & Analytics develops insightful reports aimed at optimizing operational performance. These reports encompass key performance metrics, data-driven insights, and actionable recommendations for improvement. Furthermore, the director collaborates with cross-functional teams to create customized reports tailored to specific business needs, such as the LASER framework (Leads, Appointments, Sales, Enrollments, Retention/Referrals).
5. Other Competencies:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in data manipulation and analysis is required.
    • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining is advantageous.
    • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
    • Demonstrated experience in analyzing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights.
    • Ability to interpret and communicate the findings of data analyses effectively.
    • Strong business acumen and the ability to link analytics results to strategic goals.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including data scientists, business analysts, and executives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a related quantitative discipline is required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analysis, analytics, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights and driving data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong ability to communicate at all levels inside and outside the organization, fostering positive and impartial working connections.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to persuasively convey ideas and encourage diverse groups to embrace new perspectives, while also being open to revising one's own views based on fresh insights or limitations.
  • A quick study with a proactive mindset and innovative problem-solving capabilities, showing willingness to experiment with new strategies; characterized by decisiveness, practicality, and logical thinking.
  • Skilled at focusing on fine details as well as grasping overarching strategies, with a thoughtful approach to the impact of decisions on different stakeholders.
  • Experience in consulting, retail, food & beverage or fitness industry is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within defined timelines.
  • Familiarity with financial metrics, ROI calculations, and cost analysis.
  • Expert in Excel and other analytics programs, PowerBI, etc.
